About this lightning talk: Speaker: Christopher De Sousa Title: Voice is context: How Cassini records your meetings into searchable memory Description provided by the author: Meetings are where decisions get made. Informal conversations are where new ideas are sketched out. That context is easily lost unless someone takes diligent notes duing the call and spends time organising and sharing them afterwards. For any team building workflows around agents and LLMs, voice is the most valuable context you produce, and the least captured. We wanted it for our own Nextcloud, and the first recorder we tried kept taking our calls down. Cassini is the open-source ExApp we built instead. This talk covers three design decisions that have shaped it: • Capture: the recorder must never compete with the call it records. • Format: the meeting is a self-contained record — audio, transcript, speakers, metadata and summary in one sealed file, with a viewer that runs from any static folder; • Intelligence: everything works on-premise without an LLM by default; sharing your data with third-party services is opt-in.
