Cyril Aeck's team at the ministry runs sovereign messaging and video conferencing services, with Nextcloud at the heart of their collaboration platform. Together with Julien Delamarre, Technical Director at Apitech, they've built on Nextcloud for almost ten years. This gave the ministry the ability to: • Work securely with external partners, from companies to local authorities, in shared workspaces • Cut storage and emissions by sharing links to a single document instead of emailing endless versions • Scale resources to demand with a containerized setup • Integrate with its existing systems through APIs, connectors and open protocols The team also publishes its Nextcloud customizations openly on GitHub as lessons learned that any inspired administration can freely reuse. In our recent interview, Cyril and Julien explain how public-private collaboration can deliver sovereign, energy-efficient cloud collaboration at the scale of a national ministry.
